Maui County Fair: A Celebration of Community & Opportunity
September 5, 2025
Maui County Virtual Job Fair (MCVJF) and the Maui American Job Center (MAJC) have historically shared digital space—but they are now separating to sharpen their focus and better serve Maui’s workforce.
While the two platforms currently share the same domain, their missions overlap in ways that blur their individual value. MCVJF was originally created to offer employers a virtual platform to connect with qualified job seekers and to support workforce training and certification opportunities. In contrast, the MAJC is dedicated to in‑person, one‑on‑one career counseling and job matching for individuals actively seeking employment, including youth, veterans, and those needing support under WIOA programs.
Why This Separation Makes Sense
- Clear User Experience: Disaggregating the platforms will avoid confusion. Employers using MCVJF know immediately that it’s designed for virtual, large‑scale recruitment. Individuals coming to the MAJC can focus on personalized services—career plans, skills coaching, eligibility assessments—without sifting through employer resources.
- Tailored Marketing & Resources: Each entity can now cultivate content and outreach targeted to its own audience.
- Operational Efficiency: Separation allows for better allocation of funding, staffing, and partnerships based on specific program goals—virtual fairs vs. career center services.
By establishing distinct digital homes each entity can provide sharper, more effective service, improving outcomes for employers and those navigating Maui’s job market.
