Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act helps job seekers and workers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and match employers with skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
The Maui County Workforce Development Board provides oversight of integrated programs under the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for the County of Maui and leads efforts to engage with a diverse range of job seekers, training providers, program providers and businesses to implement career pathways for job seekers and essential services for employer businesses.

Maui Economic Opportunity

MEO provides tools to help people and change lives with programs offered through five departments:

McKinley Community School for Adult

Maui Campus -Title II Funding

  • Services for adults and youth 18+
  • Attain GED, Workforce Development Diploma, Substitute Teacher Courses, Paraprofessional Testing, and other DOE certifications
  • Basic skills or English language classes
Title 1-B Funding
  • 14 years+ with disabilities to prepare, secure, and maintain employment
  • Individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities looking to enter or retain employment
  • Appropriate and accurate assessment

McKinley Community School for Adult

Title 1, Provides “kokua” to Native Hawaiians that are committed to achieving their own potential
  • Youth employment and training opportunities for Native Hawaiian, Native American, and Alaska Native youth ages 14-24
  • Take advantage of the Hana Lima Scholarship Program

Goodwill Hawaii
